NESTLER Newsletter – 3rd Newsletter

We are pleased to present the 3rd newsletter of NESTLER, offering a comprehensive overview of the project’s news, recent developments and ongoing activities. We invite all stakeholders, policy makers, researchers, farmers, and agri-tech providers, to stay informed and engaged with NESTLER’s ongoing work.

NESTLER is a joint project between the EU and African member states designed to promote One-Health sustainable partnership. With the collaboration of partners across Europe and Africa, the project aims to bring together interdisciplinary technological advances to effectively monitor the well-being of animals, plants, and humans in a holistic approach.

NESTLER at Agrotica 2026 in Thessaloniki

The NESTLER project presented in the 31st Agrotica Expo, the International Fair for Agricultural Machinery, Equipment & Supplies, held in Thessaloniki from 12–15 March 2026.

NESTLER Showcased at the 8th International Verde.Tec Exhibition 2026

NESTLER presented at the Verde.Tec Exhibition, one of Greece’s premier events focused on environmental technologies and sustainable development. The exhibition was held from February 27–28 and March 1, 2026, at the Mediterranean Exhibition Center (MEC) in Paiania, Attica.

NESTLER Signs MoU with the INCiTiS-FOOD Project

The shared goal of this initiative is to enhance the visibility and overall impact of both projects. INCiTiS-FOOD and NESTLER have significant common ground and can explore various opportunities for collaboration.

NESTLER 2nd Advisory Board and 3rd Stakeholders Group Meeting

The 2nd Advisory Board and 3rd Stakeholders Group Meeting of NESTLER was held online on the 26th of February 2026. It was attended by external advisory board members and the consortium partners. The advisory board consists of four external experts, namely Prof. C. Egesi, Prof. D. Ladakis, Dr. E. Baafi and Mr. D. Skias.

The partners of the NESTLER project convened for a hybrid meeting to discuss project developments and strategic progress. The plenary meeting took place on December 19, 2025.

The partners of the NESTLER project convened for a two-day hybrid meeting to discuss project developments and strategic progress. The seventh plenary meeting, hosted by RINIS in Sofia, Bulgaria, took place on October 8–9, 2025.

Bugs and Waste Turned into Safe Fertilizer

We are happy to share a research paper from the NESTLER project. The title is “Microbial Composition and Bioremediation in Frass Fertilizers from Insect-Based Agri-Food Waste Valorization”. It looks at how frass can be used as a safe organic fertilizer to help soil and crops grow better.
