A new SynField installation took place in Africa. The precision agriculture system was placed in Ibadan, Nigeria, in order to monitor and record prevailing in the area. The SynField head node is equipped with various sensors to measure key environmental parameters relevant to cassava cultivation, such as rainfall, temperature, humidity, solar radiation, and soil moisture content.
This installation was conducted within the context of the NESTLER project pilot activities. The pilot in Nigeria is one of six in total pilot demonstrations of the project. The other five pilots will be conducted in Cameroon, Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Kenya, where additional IoT devices will be installed.
SynField precision agriculture systems will be installed in 6 African countries (Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, Cameroon, and Nigeria) extended the SynField network to 3 continents.
